Congratulations goes out to the WC Indoor Track team, the girls 4x200 relay finished 11th out of 25 schools at yesterday’s state indoor track meet. Ma’Kayla Graves placed 6th in the 55 meter hurdles; the highest 1A finisher. Shakirah Hamlett finished 8th in the long jump and Jahmal Ashley finished 8th in the triple jump. Congratulations!!

Attention Juniors: If you received an application from Mrs. Dalton for Pre-Nursing, Welding, HVAC, EMT, or Machine Shop, please note that ALL applications are due by Tuesday, March 1st. If it is not turned in by March 1st, you will not be considered for any of these programs.

 

Attention Juniors: If you would like extra help for the spring SAT and ACT, Kaplan Test Prep will be hosting free online Cram sessions for the newly revised SAT and ACT. Sessions are starting Saturday, February 27th. Space is limited. To sign up, please visit: www.kaptest.com/freecram.

 

Attention Seniors: Miller-Motte Technical College will be offering Shadow Day on Monday, March 7th. High school seniors will have the opportunity to mingle with students, get to know program directors, participate in labs and possibly find the career of your dreams. Lunch will be included. The student must provide their own transportation. If you are interested in participating in Shadow Day, please sign up in guidance by March 3rd.

 

Signups are not available for the March Driving Range. Please sign up on the door of Room 103. See Mrs. Martin if you have questions.

 

(IMPORTANT! ALL COLLEGE BOUND WC STUDENTS SHOULD APPLY!) The Tobacco Region Scholarship Program is now accepting applications for the 2016-17 academic year (Fall 2016/Spring 2017) for students who are enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program at a 4-year college/university. Applications will be accepted until April 15, 2016. Please see Mrs. Maxey in Guidance to receive the specific instructions for applying for this scholarship. If you will be attending a community college, please call the college financial aid office to ask about their tobacco funds.

 

Attention Rising 7th and 8th graders: Centra is offering a medical careers camp for students interested in healthcare careers. Applications are due by April 25, 2016. Please see Ms. Pugh for more information.

   

Attention Seniors: The senior trip to Bush Gardens requires a $20.00 deposit to reserve your place. Please see Mr. Cheatham or Mr. Marano for further details.
