There will be a volleyball meeting Tuesday, February 10th during I/E for any girl grade 6 – 11 who is interested in playing next year. The meeting will be held in the auditorium. Please be prompt in arriving.

Sign-ups are now open for the February driving range. Please see Mrs. Martin in room 103 or in the high school gym to get your name on the list.

The next collection date for Box Tops is Friday, February 13th. Please give them to Miss Bream or put them in her mailbox.

Senior Superlative pictures will be taken next Thursday, February 12th.

To any senior who hasn’t turned in a baby picture for the slide show, please turn one in as soon as possible to Mrs. McGuire in room 110.

Central Virginia Society For Human Resource Management Scholarship (SHRM) is open to all graduating seniors from Region 2000 public high schools.  There will be two $500 awarded.  A list of activities and a short essay is required. Applications are available in Guidance. Deadline to apply is April 15th.

The Ann Wilcox Memorial Scholarship is being offered to high school seniors who are planning a career in a health related field. Each scholarship will total $1500. Applications are available in Guidance. Deadline to apply is March 25.

Attention junior and senior guys: Men’s Warehouse is offering a $40 coupon on tux rentals. Go to their website and sign up to receive this coupon.

Attention juniors and seniors: There is a sign-up sheet for prom located on Mr. Cheatham’s door. If you are planning on attending, please sign up. Deadline to do so is February 28th.

Attention seniors: Please sign up on Mr. Cheatham’s door if you are interested in going on the senior trip to Kings Dominion May 29th. Details will follow later. We need a head count.

Just a reminder students:  Headphones are to be put away once entering the building. This includes returning from the tech center or field trips. They are not to be worn around your neck at any time. Please put them in your book bags. Failure to comply could result in disciplinary action.

Attention 6th and 7th graders- Are you interested in a medical careers camp this summer? If so, please see Ms. Pugh in Guidance for a flyer. The camp will be held at VA Baptist Hospital from July 27th – July 31st. The deadline for applications is April 20, 2015.

Robert Godsey Memorial Scholarship is in the amount of $500 and will be paid directly to the college for one William Campbell senior who has played baseball for the Brookneal Dixie Youth League and meets the criteria.  Criteria to be considered for this award will include academic performance, participation in school/community activities, previously played Brookneal Dixie Youth baseball, and financial need.  Applications are available in the guidance office.  Deadline to return application to guidance is April 20, 2015.

The GROWS summer program is a week long program on the campus of Virginia State University for rising seniors interested in becoming teachers.  During this academic college preparation program, all travel and room and board expenses are covered for selected students as part of the program participation.  The program will be held July 12-19, 2015.  Applications are available in guidance.  Application deadline is March 24th.

There will be a middle school dance after school Friday and high dance after game.

All Forensics team members who are participating in the February 14 Conference Championship need to see Mrs. Haertel for a permission slip today.

No tennis conditioning today.  We will resume on Wednesday.

Tickets for the high school basketball game and dance will be on sale Tuesday at lunch.

Congratulations to the girls varsity basketball on their win against Nelson on Friday.  The final score was 54-38.  Jordan Hamlett lead with 18 points.  Jasmine Rosser had 11 points.  Jasmine Goode had 8 total rebounds.  Keri Hamlett contributed with 3 steals.  Great job ladies!
