There will be NO after school practice for softball today, Tuesday, February 9th.

 

The weight room will be open today after school. Please have a ride by 4:30.

 

Attention Seniors: The guidance office has received information for applying for the Virginia Sheriffs Institute Scholarship. Please see WC’s website for more information. Deadline to apply is April 8th.

 

The AP meeting that was to be held today during intervention has been postponed. A new date will be set in the near future.

 

Attention Seniors: Are you interested in a career in banking and finance? Have you always wondered what actually goes on inside a bank? Do you need money to help pay for your college tuition? If so, consider participating in Bank Day. On this day, you will spend a day in a bank shadowing a banker in their daily duties. From your day, you will write an essay based on your experience. These essays will be judged by bankers and thirteen scholarships will be awarded to the winners. Bank Day will take place on Tuesday, March 15th. To participate you must sign up in Guidance by March 7th.

 

Attention Seniors: The guidance office has received information for applying for the Ann Wilcox Scholarship. Please see WC’s website for more information. Deadline to apply is March 28th.

 

Attention Rising 7th and 8th graders: Centra is offering a medical careers camp for students interested in healthcare careers. Applications are due by April 25, 2016. Please see Ms. Pugh for more information.

 

February Driving Range: We still have spots open for the February Driving Range. Tuesday will be the last day to sign-up. The sign-up sheet will be located on Room 103 in the High School. If you are a Spring Athlete this range is during tryouts! Please be aware!!

 

Attention Juniors: Applications are available in the guidance office for The 2016 Rural Electric Youth Tour Competition sponsored by Southside Electric Cooperative. Any high school junior who lives and attends school in the Southside Electric Cooperative service area can apply. Applicants will be competing for an all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C., June 12-16, 2016. Entrants will be required to submit a written essay of no more than 500 words. All essays must arrive at the Cooperative by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11th to be considered.

 

Attention Seniors: The senior trip to Bush Gardens requires a $20.00 deposit to reserve your place. Please see Mr. Cheatham or Mr. Marano for further details.

 

Attention 11th Graders: It is time to begin scheduling classes for the 2016-17 school year. An appointment with your parent, you and Mrs. Dalton is required. Please have your parent call Mrs. Maxey to arrange for an appointment time. All Appointments must be scheduled by the end of February.
