If you did not provide an email address you will receive your scores by paper in early February. Mrs. Dalton will meet with all students who took the PSAT’s once the paper scores have arrived. See Mrs. Dalton if you have questions.

Attention 10th graders! Are you interested in Engineering? Does the idea of attending CVCC as a junior next year appeal to you? Consider applying to the STEM Academy! Students enrolled in STEM spend half of their school day attending classes at CVCC and return to William Campbell for 5th, 6th and 7th period classes. Earn college credits and possibly land a job at AREVA, BWXT, Centra Health and more, right after you graduate from high school!! You don’t have to be a straight “A” student, but you do have to be a hard worker and enjoy math and science. Want to know more? Please see Mrs. Dalton by Wednesday, January 22nd to learn more about the program and qualifications and to pick up an application.

Attention College Bound Seniors: On Saturday, January 30th we will be helping families complete their financial aid paperwork for college (also known as the FAFSA or the Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The parent and student should attend since the parent will need to provide current tax documentation. Breakfast will be provided for the student and up to two parents. If you are attending college in the fall this is a MUST!! We will allow sign-ups until all spots are taken. Space is limited. Additional paperwork will be provided upon registration. Sign up in Guidance. See Mrs. Dalton if you have questions.

The CVCC English and Math Placement Test for sophomores and juniors who plan to apply for the Early College Program or STEM and for seniors planning to apply to CVCC in the fall, and for any student planning to do a dual enrollment class next year (such as Machine Shop) has been scheduled for Monday, February 1st. The test will begin at 8:05 a.m. in the Library. There is no cost for the test. *Very Important—Students need to sign up in guidance, apply to CVCC, and give your student number to Mrs. Maxey prior to testing day. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Maxey.
