Tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Campbell County Tech Center there will be a meeting for any 11th grader interested in taking a class at CVCC next year such as: HVAC, Welding, Health Sciences (formerly Pre-Nursing), Cyber Security, EMS/Fire or Machine Shop. If you are interested in any of these classes you are encouraged to attend.


There will be a BETA meeting after school on Monday, January 23rd.


The senior class is taking donations of prom dresses as a fundraiser for After Prom. If you have a dress you would like to donate, please bring it to Mrs. Pritt in Room 106.


Seniors: Would you like recognition on your diploma for completing at least 50 volunteer hours during high school? You can receive this recognition for volunteering thru a variety of activities such as 4H, Boys or Girls Scouts, church, and other service organizations. In addition, you must be in good academic standing. If interested, please see Mrs. Dalton for more information. Please be aware that you will need to have proof of your volunteer hours complete with your volunteer supervisor’s signature. Please see Mrs. Dalton by February 2nd if you want to be considered.


 Attention Students: If you would like to purchase a personalized yearbook (you’re your name on the front) please do so by Monday, January 23rd. The price is $55 (with your name) or $50 without your name. Don’t forget that prices go up again soon! Purchase your yearbook today!


Report cards for students who were absent on Thursday are in the guidance office. Please see Mrs. Maxey for your copy.


William Campbell will be hosting our first blood drive of 2017 on Wednesday, February 1st. There is currently an emergency need for blood and platelet donations and we encourage all eligible donors to participate. Please see Mrs. Faulconer to sign-up.


Attention 10th Graders: If you would like to apply to the Early College Program, the STEM Academy or the Central Virginia Governor’s School…..please see Mrs. Dalton to pick up your application. Applications must be picked up by January 31st. Applications WILL NOT be handed out after this date. All completed applications are due by February 10th.


Attention Juniors: The 2017 Rural Electric Youth Tour Competition sponsored by Southside Electric Cooperative is open for any high school junior who attends school in the Southside Electric Cooperative service area. Winners will receive an all-expense paid trip to the Washington, DC June 11-15 and have the opportunity to meet with your House and Senate members in Capitol Hill. Applications are available in the guidance office and online. See Mrs. Maxey if you have any questions. Deadline to return completed essay and application to guidance is March 6th.


Attention Seniors: The Guidance Office has received information for applying for the following scholarships:

·         William C. Fowlkes. Deadline to apply is March 17th.

·         Va. Council on Women STEM Essay Contest. Deadline to apply is February 20th.

·         Chatham University Rachel Carson Scholarship. Deadline to apply is April 1st.

·         Brogan Thomas Franklin – Live to Learn. Deadline to apply is April 14th.
