Attention 11th or 12th graders who are considering a career in Engineering. William Campbell may have two students participate in the annual BWXT, Framatome, and NOVATECH Engineering Mentorship program. It is a great program and students who have participated in the past have really enjoyed working on engineering projects with actual engineers. You also get a free lunch during February, March, and April at a nice restaurant! If you are interested please see Mrs. Dalton ASAP. The first luncheon is on February 11th.

Attention Seniors: The Guidance Office has received information for applying for the following scholarships:

  • Robert Godsey Memorial Scholarship - The Brookneal Dixie Youth Baseball League will offer a $500 scholarship to a William Campbell senior who has played baseball for the Brookneal Dixie Youth League. Consideration for this award is based on academic performance, participation in school/community activities and financial need. Applicants should have previously played for the Brookneal Dixie Youth Baseball League. Deadline to apply is May 15, 2020.
  • The AAUW-Lynchburg Branch Scholarship - sponsored by the Lynchburg Branch of the American Association of University Women) is now open to senior girls who plan on attending a 4-year college/university. An essay and two (2) letters of recommendation are required. Awards are based on academic success and financial need. Award: $3,000. Applications are available in the counseling office and must be returned to Mrs. Faulconer no later than March 23rd.

Attention 10th graders! Are you interested in Engineering? Does the idea of attending CVCC as a junior next year appeal to you? Consider applying to the STEM Academy! Students enrolled in STEM spend half of their school day attending classes at CVCC and return to William Campbell for 5th, 6th and 7th period classes. Earn college credits and possibly land a job at AREVA, BWXT, Centra Health and more, right after you graduate from high school! You don’t have to be a straight A student, but you do have to be a hard worker and enjoy math and science. Want to know more? Please see Mrs. Dalton by Friday, January 31st to learn more about the program and qualifications and to pick up an application.

11th graders may now pick up applications to attend CVCC next year for one of the following programs: Health Sciences, EMT, EMS/Fire, Cyber Security, Criminal Justice, Welding, HVAC, and Machine Shop. If you would like to apply, please pick up an application from Mrs. Dalton by January 31st.
