Congratulations to the ACE team for a solid performance at Chatham last night. The team lost close matches to Chatham and Dan River, but pulled together to defeat Nelson and Altavista. Jacob McDonald had another great performance, while Daron Tardy, Jacob Silby and Nathan Williams scored additional points. Kaitlyn King, Robert Morton and Caleb Kerr supported the team effort.

Bus 160 will ride Bus 140 this afternoon.

There will be an FCA meeting today after school from 3 – 3:30 in Mr. Heath’s room.

Glee Club is cancelled for after-school Friday. Do not report to the auditorium.

Any senior who has not done their signature for the yearbook needs to stop by room 110 and see Mr. Meadows or see Mrs. Hancock in the library before Friday.

All students 6-11 interested in playing football next year or becoming a better athlete are encouraged to attend weight lifting after school on Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays. We will lift & work on speed, agility and quickness from 3:05-4:30 each day. If you have any questions please see Coach Phares.

Driving range sign-ups are NOW. If you have a learners permit, and would like to go on the January range, see Mrs. Martin to sign up.

Attention 10th grade Advanced Math students: Applications for the Early College Scholar Program and the Central Virginia Governor’s School are now available from Mrs. Dalton in Guidance. Students who are in Pre-AP Algebra II/Trig or Pre-AP Calculus are eligible to apply for these programs. Please pick applications from Mrs. Dalton by Wednesday, January 21st.

Attention 10th graders who are interested in attending the STEM Engineering Program at CVCC next year: Applications are now available from Mrs. Dalton. Students who attend this program spend ½ the day at CVCC taking math, science and Engineering courses and the other half of the day at William Campbell. This is a great program for students who would like to receive college credit during high school and are interested in getting hired by companies such as BWXT and Areva after high school. Please see Mrs. Dalton by Wednesday, January 21st to find out eligibility requirements and to pick up an application.

The CVCC English and Math Placement test for sophomores who plan to apply to the Early College or STEM programs, seniors planning to attend CVCC in the fall, and any student planning to take a dual enrollment class next year such as Machine Shop, has been scheduled for Friday, February 6th. The test will begin at 8:05 in the library. There is no cost for the test and students need to apply to CVCC prior to testing. The deadline to sign up in Guidance is Friday, January 30th.
