Congratulations to the track team, who participated in yesterday’s Region 1B Championship at Stonewall Jackson High School. Zekeya Townes in the shot put, Shaquan Traynham in the shot put & discus, Jordan Young in the Long Jump, Steven Dews in the 100m and Joshua Keller in the 300m Intermediate Hurdles all finished in the top 4 in the Region and will advance to the State Championship on May 31-June 1.


Attention Seniors: Are you looking for a job after graduation? BGF Industries, Inc. in Altavista is hiring for second and third shift manufacturing positions. These are full-time jobs with pay starting at approximately $14 per hour. Previous factory experience is not required. Visit your local Virginia Employment Commission office to fill out a BGF application.


Attention Seniors: The guidance office has received information on an Advanced Customer Service and Sales class that will be held at CVCC June 10—27th from 9:00-4:00 (Mon-Fri). Earn two (2) credentials and connect with area employers in only 3 weeks! Please see Mrs. Faulconer in HS Guidance for more information.


Attention Seniors: Are you interested in a Medical Career? The guidance office has received information on CVCC’s Workforce Solutions Phlebotomy Technician Program, which will be held beginning in the Fall 2019. Please see Mrs. Faulconer in HS Guidance for more information on this program.


There will be a meeting for all girls interested in playing basketball next year on Wednesday, May 22nd during I/E in the auditorium.


A golf interest meeting will be held on Thursday, May 23rd at 7:50 am in the Auditorium. This meeting is open to all rising 8th-12th graders.


Attention Students: Anyone who will be in 8th through 12th grade next year that is interested in running cross-country this fall should sign up for an information packet with Coach Turner in HS207.


Attention Seniors: If you are attending college in the fall you MUST go to HS Guidance to request your final transcript be sent to that school. If you do not, your enrollment in college will be delayed.


Attention CVCC Dual Enrollment Students: Please Return your CVCC textbooks to HS Guidance.


2020 Senior portraits will be taken at WC on June 17th. Current juniors will receive your appointments by mail near the end of May. This information will provide you with directions to confirm or make changes to your scheduled appointment. Please contact Lifetouch if you have not received this information by June 10th.
