Today we honor our military members who have served our country. We would like to thank Mr. Wilson and Ms. Robson who we are honored to know and work with on a daily basis. Tell them “Thank You” if you see them today.


Basketball: JV/B players please report to Coach Haga’s room after school today (Wednesday, Nov. 11th). Varsity & JV players please report to the upstairs HS Computer Lab after school today.


Attention Students: Please make sure you are turning in all Doctor’s notes and notes from home if you are absent. Notes should be turned in to Coach Bolling who is set up on the way to the cafeteria in the mornings before classes begin.


Listen Up General Fans – Come on out Friday night and meet Ms. Crabtree on the football field @ 6:40 p.m. as we form a spirit line to show our football team the support we have for them and help cheer them on to what we hope will be a victory!!


We are running a non-perishable food drive for Brookneal Emergency Assistance Ministry (BEAM). There is a competition between the High School and the Middle School. The school that brings in the most items gets a Hat Day on November 24th. Let’s support our community and load up the boxes.


Attention Seniors: The WDBJ-7 Noel C. Taylor Athlete Scholarship will be awarded to one deserving student in the amount of $2000. Applications are in guidance and need to be returned by November 12th.


Juniors: The Ring Dance will be held November 14th from 7 – 11 p.m. at WC. Please sign up on Miss Reynolds door if you plan to attend. Also, stop by Miss Reynolds room to leave song requests for the dance. All dates from schools other than WC must be pre-approved by administration.


Attention Seniors: A representative from Lynchburg College will be here on Thursday, December 3rd at 6:00 p.m. to present a College Financial Aid Workshop. Any student planning to attend a post graduate institution needs to attend this meeting. The financial aid process will be explained in detail along with instructions for the completion of FAFSA. Parents are encouraged to attend with the students. Please sign-up in guidance by Monday, November 30th if you plan to attend.


Attention Seniors: The guidance office has received information for applying for the Colonial Agriculture Educational Foundation Scholarship. Please see WC’s website for more information. Deadline to apply is March 1st.


Attention Juniors and Seniors: The guidance office has received information for applying for the Lee Jackson Educational Foundation Scholarship. Please see WC’s website for more information. Deadline to apply is February 1st.


The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) will begin regular meetings on Friday mornings at 7:45 in Room 103 in the High School. Meetings will start next Friday, November 13th.

Attention Juniors and Seniors: Liberty University will be at WC for an On Site Admission Visit on November 16th at 9:00 a.m. Any senior who would like to be considered for admission on that day will need to have the following information ready: Application, SAT scores and Transcript. Application fees will be waived during this week. Transcript request forms need to be turned in to the Guidance Department prior to the meeting. Sign up in guidance by November 13th if you plan to attend.

Attention Juniors and Seniors: Longwood University will be here on November 18th at 1:00 p.m. to meet with interested students. Application fees will be waived for seniors who apply that week. Sign up in guidance by November 17th if you plan to attend.

Congratulations goes out to our Varsity Football team for the win over Chatham on Friday night. We will host the first round of the IA East Region playoffs here at WCCS on Friday, November 13th at 7:00 p.m. against Colonial Beach.

Attention Seniors: Straight Outta WC Shirts are now on sale for $12 (S-XL). Larger sizes are available at an additional cost. See your senior class officers to place your order.

WCCS will be having a Coke Reward contest from October 30-November 23. The student who brings in the most points will receive an Athletic Pass. A winner will be chosen from both the Middle School and the High School.  The coke brand bottle tops are worth 3pts, the Coke box tops off of the can products are worth 10pts and the labels off of the Dasani water cases are worth 20pts. Collect your items and put them in a Ziplock bag and write your name and grade level on the bag. Return items to either the High School or Middle School office. The winners will be announced on November 24th! Thanks and Good Luck!!

Attention Seniors: Norfolk State University will be participating with Virginia College Application Week 2015 from November 16-20. Any senior interested in applying during this time should come by guidance for a code to use to waive the application fee. See Mrs. Maxey if you have questions.

The Gloria Wille Bell and Carlos R. Bell Scholarship Program for the University of Michigan will provide up to $80,000 over four years for a student from the Commonwealth of Virginia. Scholarships are provided for students pursuing a degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or another science related scientific field. Applications are available online. See Mrs. Maxey if interested.

Central Virginia Credit Union – Joseph P. Crouch Memorial Scholarship – will provide a $1000 scholarship to be used toward tuition or other related fees to a CVFCU member who is a high school senior entering an accredited college or university. The scholarship is based on merit and citizenship. Applicants must become a member of the credit union by February 5, 2016. Applications are available in guidance. Deadline to apply is March 28th.
