Attention Juniors and Seniors: Due to a scheduling conflict Friday afternoons college meeting with UVA has been CANCELED. We are working to hopefully reschedule this meeting for a later date.

Don't forget to bring your money and put it in the jar for the teacher you want to see Pie'd in the face at the Pep Rally. Will it be Mrs. Bullock, Mr. Davis, Mr. Adams, Miss Moore, Mrs. Cole, Ms. Goodson, Miss Hase or Mrs. Williams. Right now coach Davis is in the lead.

Attention Middle School Students: Don't forget to turn in your permission slip for the Middle School tailgate party happening after school on Friday.

Attention Juniors and Seniors: A representative from Liberty University will be here on Thursday, Oct. 3rd at 11:00 a.m. Sign up in Guidance by Oct. 2nd if you plan to attend this meeting.

Attention Juniors and Seniors: A representative from Mary Baldwin University (*an ALL GIRLS School) will here on Friday, Oct. 4th at 10:30 a.m. Sign up in Guidance by Oct 3rd if you plan to attend this meeting.

Attention Seniors: The Harry F. Byrd, Jr. Leadership Award is now open to all seniors. The award is based on leadership, character, and duty. Award winners will receive $15,000 and there is no restriction to the use of the award. Only one student from WC may be nominated. If you wish to be considered, please see Mrs. Dalton by October 25th.


Homecoming Spirit Week 2019 is next week! Start planning your outfits now!! Look for posters around school for ideas on how to dress up and show your school spirit!

‘Merica Monday – Come decked out in your Red, White, and Blue!

Tropical Tuesday – Let’s convert WC to a tropical island!

Way-out Wednesday – Dress like a hippie or wear all the tie dye you can find!

Throwback Thursday – Wear your best 80’s or 90’s outfit!

Friday – On game day we wear Blue and Grey!


Lifetouch will be here on Monday, Oct. 7th to take underclassmen re-take pictures.

Attention Seniors who will be enrolling in college in 2020:  On Saturday, October 5th, we will be hosting a free College Financial Aid workshop in the library from 9 - 11 a.m. This is an event for seniors and at least one parent. At this workshop parents may bring their 2018 tax information and receive help completing their FAFSA application. All students and parents must request a FSA ID number at least 4 days in advance of this workshop. Sign up in HS Guidance if you plan to attend this meeting!

Attention 10th and 11th graders: The PSAT's will be held on October 16th. ALL 10th graders will be taking this test for free and DO NOT need to sign up. Any 11th grader who would also like to take the PSAT MUST sign up in the Guidance Office by Wednesday, October 4th. The cost for 11th graders to test is $17. However, some fee waivers are available on a first come, first serve basis. 11th graders should take the PSAT if they are college bound as it also serves as a scholarship competition and prepares for the SAT's in the spring. Please see Mrs. Faulconer in the counseling office to register. Be aware that there is no make-up testing date for the PSAT's.

The SAT's (without the essay) will be offered for free to all seniors on Wednesday, October 16th. Signing up is easy! All seniors need to do is come by the school counseling office to sign up. You DO NOT need to sign up using a Collegeboard account. All seniors need to sign up by October 4th. This is a great opportunity to take your SAT's without having to test on a Saturday and will save you $49. Sign up today!!
