Attention Juniors and Seniors: A representative from Hollins University will be here on Wednesday, Sept. 11th at 11:30 a.m. Sign up in Guidance by September 10th if you plan to attend this meeting.


Attention 10th, 11th and 12th graders: Lynchburg City Schools will once again be hosting the local College Night Program. This year it will be held at E.C. Glass High School on September 11th from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. in their gymnasium. Representatives from over 60 public and private colleges/universities will be present. Sophomores, juniors and seniors and their parents are encouraged to attend.


Attention Juniors and Seniors: Longwood University will be at WC for an on-site Admission visit on Friday, September 13th at 10:30 a.m. Seniors who wish to be considered for admission should apply to Longwood at least 48 hrs prior to September 13th.  Transcript request forms also need to be turned in to the Guidance Office prior to the meeting. Sign up in Guidance by September 11th if you plan to attend. *(Nursing program applicants CANNOT participate in on-site admission). **All other students wishing to participate in the on-site admission visit must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0+ and 950+ SAT / 17+ ACT. Please see Mrs. Faulconer in HS Guidance if you have any questions!!

Attention Juniors and Seniors:  A representative from ASVAB will be at WC on Friday, September 20th to administer the ASVAB Career Exploration Test.  Testing will start at 8:05 a.m.  Students need to sign up in Guidance by September 18th


Attention Seniors: New scholarships have been added to the school's website under the School Counseling scholarship section. Please check the website to determine criteria and application information for the following scholarships:

  • Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway Contest
  • Horatio Alger Scholarship Program
  • Unigo $10K Scholarship

Attention Seniors: If you plan on attending a 2 or 4-year college/university next year, please plan on attending our college financial aid information session September 17th at 6:00 pm in the Auditorium. This session should be attended by the parent and student. You DO NOT need to sign up to attend. This session will cover how to apply for college financial aid. We look forward to seeing you!!
