On May 8th WCCS 6th grade class had five students compete in the Central Virginia Regional Science Fair. Braelyn Wilson, Cooper Elder, Emma Baldwin, Amari Callaham and Abigail Spickard all did a fantastic job presenting their science fair projects. Emma Baldwin was invited to compete at the national level by winning a Broadcom Masters award for her science fair project, "The Ultimate Taste Test." She also won 1st place in the invertebrate category. Congratulations to all of these students!

At Saturday's EC Glass JV Invitational Track Meet the following students placed. Damion Clark was 2nd in the shot and 6th in the disc. RJ Ballou was 4th in shot and My'Angel Elam was 5th in disc. Congratulations!

Varsity Football & Basketball Cheerleading Tryouts will be held on Wednesday and Thursday of this week after school. Please have your ride here by 5:00 pm.

Sign ups for the June driving range are now available on the door of Room 103. We will only hold sign-ups for 1 week! If six students don't sign up, June range will be cancelled and there won't be another range until September. Please see Mrs. Martin in you have questions.

Attention Seniors: The Brookneal Dixie Youth Baseball League will offer a $500 college scholarship to a William Campbell senior who has played baseball for the BDYB League. The scholarship will be paid directly to the college the student will attend in the fall. Criteria for consideration of this award will include academic performance, participation in school/community activities, previously played Brookneal Dixie Youth baseball and financial need. A letter of recommendation will be required as well as an essay written by the student defining their goals for the future. Please see Mrs. Dalton for a copy of the application. All applications are due to the Guidance Office by May 23rd.

Attention Juniors: Class of 2019 Senior Portraits -- Prestige/Lifetouch will be here on June 18th to take senior portraits. Be on the lookout for your appointment letter by June 4th. Once you get your appointment, go online to prestigeportraits.com and confirm or reschedule your appt. Be sure to share the information that you received from your English teacher with your parents/guardians.
