Graders interested in the programs below (meeting in library):
College Scholars Program: Students
who apply to this program must have a 3.5 GPA and currently be in, or have
previously taken, Pre-AP Algebra II / Trig and Chemistry. The application and selection process will be
discussed by Mrs. Dalton. In addition, ECSP students will be on hand to answer
questions about their experiences in the program. This program allows students
to complete their College Associates Degree by June 2019.
Virginia Governor’s School Program:
Students must have taken or currently be enrolled in Pre-AP Algebra II /
Trig and Chemistry. Two students from
the CVGS will be available for questions.
The application and selection process will be discussed by Mrs. Dalton.
This program is designed for students who are strong in science and math.
Academy: Students must have taken or
be currently enrolled in Geometry with at least a C average. Strong
organizational and study skills are a must. This program is designed for
students who are interested in pursuing engineering in either the mechanical or
biological fields. A STEM Academy student will be available for questions about
her experience with the program. The application and selection process will be
discussed by Mrs. Dalton
and 11th Graders interested in the programs below (meeting in
Ashley Wilson from the Campbell
County Tech Center will be presenting on technical education opportunities for
rising 11th and 12th grade students.
County Center Technical Programs:
Auto Body, Auto Servicing, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Computer Repair,
Computer Networking, Nursing Aide and Electricity.
classes which rising 12th graders may apply for admittance: Pre-Nursing, Welding, HVAC, and Machine
Shop. Although they have not officially been approved, there are two new
programs that are being considered by Campbell County Schools to be offered at
CVCC: Cyber Security and EMT / Fire. Please be aware that there is
no guarantee that these programs will be offered. The application and selection
process will be discussed.
IMPORTANT: Please be aware that all students who wish to
be considered for the ECSP, STEM Academy and CVCC classes must take the CVCC
placement test which will be offered at William Campbell on December 6th. Students must pre-register in the Guidance
Office and must apply to CVCC online before taking the test. All students who take the test will receive
an automatic acceptance letter from CVCC. This
is not acceptance into the program in which he or she is applying. Acceptance
into the program will be decided by Campbell County Schools. In addition,
students who wish to be considered for the following classes also need to take
the placement test: Computer Repair,
Computer Networking, and Advanced Drawing and Design (offered at William
Campbell after students have completed Basic Tech Drawing, Engineer Drawing,
and Architectural Drawing).
